  • What will our daily and schedules look like? See this link [LINK] for a layout.
  • If I choose the hybrid learning model, how many days will my child be in the actual classroom? Your child will be learning in person two days a week. Two other days will be characterized by remote learning. Fridays will be days of online assessments, virtual chapels and a rotation of Fun Fridays (see activities below).
  • Can we switch between remote and online options? Students in hybrid learning may switch to remote learning at any time. Students may switch from remote to hybrid classroom learning at the beginning of every new quarter.
  • What is the daily schedule for remote learning? All students will be viewing the class livestream, so the remote learning schedule will match the in-class learning exactly.
  • Can we expect that my child, even in elementary grades, will be on a screen for the whole school day? Each classroom stands independently, so a teacher can adapt the amount of "screen" video teaching to correspond to the needs of the students. Your child will be fully engaged for the whole school day, whether on screen, in class-related activities, or designated breaks.
  • My child is in middle school. Will the Zoom calls be confusing? They shouldn't be. We will have one Zoom call per day for each grade, beginning in homeroom. This means your child will not have to switch calls for every class. It does not mean that your child will be watching the video. In addition to teacher-directed individual work times, we will also take the normal breaks between classes, lunch, and homeroom procedures.
  • Will students be required to wear their uniforms on remote learning days? We expect our students to be fully prepared for each remote learning. This includes being logged in on time, being "dressed for success," and prepared for class to start. That being said, we will not expect students to wear their school uniform when learning at home.
  • If a child is sick and needs to stay home from school, can they still work remotely from home? Yes, we would love to see our students join us online as much as possible. They should have all resources and links needed to join the class from home.
  • How far apart are the desks? Each desk is at least six feet apart. Students who eat lunch will be at least six feet apart and separated by a plexiglass shield.
  • Can children use a personal face shield instead of a face mask? At this time, the CDC has directed that students us only face masks, not face shields. We will continue to monitor this answer and will update you as we can.
  • Will my child be able to take his/her mask off if needed? We are expecting students to wear face masks at all times in the general areas and when interacting with their classmates. There will be opportunities for them to remove masks throughout the day (when eating and during teacher-designated breaks at their individual desks).
  • Will teachers uphold these social distancing expectations? Yes, teachers will work to ensure that each student follows the protocol for masks. We will also enlist the help of parents if needed.
  • What special cleaning procedures will be in place? See our list of procedures here. [LINK]
  • What HVAC filters are being considered for the school's air system? We have no centralized HVAC system, only baseboard heating. We will do everything we can to maintain natural ventilation through open windows and doors.
  • What about bathroom cleaning throughout the day? We will not be closing bathrooms during the day for deep cleaning. Instead, we will be periodically spray-cleaning high-touch areas like doors, fixtures, and dispensers throughout the day.
  • Who can join for Fun Friday? We encourage every student in the class to join for this optional activity time. Families are also welcome to join for these occasions, providing we have enough space.
  • What if weather affects a Fun Friday? At this time, we cannot provide the indoor space to accommodate all classes. These activities are weather-permitting. Pray with us for clear weather!
  • What information can you share about the after-school program? We will be offering an after-school program (ASP) that extends until 6 pm and is overseen by school staff. We are unable to offer the service beyond 6 pm. The students will be in the 1st floor All-Purpose Room, which as the capacity for 32 students. At this time, about a dozen students are planning to make use of our ASP on a consistent basis.
